A guide to adding colors to your Notion maps

Authors

In this post, I will teach you how to add colors to your map markers using Notion databases and Notion Maps.

step-4

You must first create a column called "Color" of the type "Select" (not "Multi-Select"). As we know, in Notion, every option from a select can have its own color, so, for example, I can create options that correspond with weather conditions, such as "Cold" to be blue and "Sunny" to be orange. So all you have to do is create options that are relevant to your data and color them accordingly.

step-1

As a result, you have a column named "Color" of type "Select" with every option having a color, as seen in the following image.

step-2
step-3

It's now as easy as creating or updating a map and the colors will be pulled from your Notion database.
